Lol Robinson & Hazey Jane II - Songs from Lucy's Cottage (2009)
The first CD of Lol Robinson songs. It's not everyone who gets to record an album with their favourite author so I was clicking my heels when I got asked by Phil Rickman to compose the music to compliment the lyrics from the books. For those who haven't yet had the pleasure of reading the Merrily Watkins mystery series, Lol is a Nick Drake obsessed singer/guitarist whose music has been a mainstay of the series since book one 'The Wine of Angels'. Other constant elements from the novels such as the folklore of Ella Mary Leather and the poetry of Thomas Traherne are woven through the seams of the songs.

Lol Robinson & Hazey Jane II - A Message From the Morning (2010)
The second (difficult) Lol Robinson album. After the success of the first Cd, Phil and I thought it would be fun to do it all over again. So we did. This time the songs had more of an edge to them as after coming into frequent contact with serial killers, the uneasy dead, satanists, as well as downright corrupt members of the clergy, we imagined Lol's songwriting would have moved on from the pastoral Nick Drake vibe of the first album to something much darker.

Philosopher's Stone - Abbey Tapes:The Exorcism (2011)

Music based on the classic Phil Rickman dark supernatural novel 'December'. I could write much about this album but Julie Adams who played flute on the CD has already written very eloquently on the subject, You can find find Julie's words here. All I will say is that in the novel, a psychic folk rock band named Philospher's Stone, record an album (The Black Album) in a haunted old Welsh abbey, with the resulting music held responsible for a series of gory deaths. This was always one of my favourite books by any writer. A new audio book of the novel is due for release towards the end of 2012, read by Sean Barrett and will include music from the CD. December is due to be republished by Corvus books soon but is currently available as an ebook and also as a special limited edition hardback from Mansion House Books.

Candy Seance - All Things Mechanical (2009)
Originally recorded under the name Left On Red but had to ditch this when I discovered two teenage American rappers had filched the name right from under my nose. A pretty short album by anyone's standards - 6 songs, three of which were just poetry set to music.

A much more complete album than the first. I'd just bought this really expensive Taylor guitar and had to justify to extravagance of splashing out so much dosh.

Columbus Road - Prospect (2000)
A 19 track retrospective CD of songs from Columbus Road, a band I've been part of for the best part of 25 years. Myself and fellow founder member Gordon Davidson, keep this floundering ship afloat with regular strumming sessions and the occasional gig.

After a nine year recording silence I decided to kick things off again. After writing a bunch of new songs (and buying a Roland 12 track) I talked Gordon Davidson into tuning his guitar and adding his own distinctive contributions.
